Nigeria Akwa Ibom beans are sweet and nutty; with an aroma of plum and cinnamon. Overall impression is one of toffee with cinnamon and baked fruits, with a muted astringency and slightly sour acidity. Nigeria Akwa Ibom begin as ripe cocoa pods, harvested and shucked by hand. The beans are then fermented between banana leaves on the forest floor, and then dried in the African sun.
